we're not at home

Ostia is an ancient and beautiful city near the Mediterranean. Our drawing class ventured out to Ostia Antica on Friday to sketch some of the ruins. There were many old foundations from commercial districts and theaters.

I found that even though I am studying in Italy for only a short time, I am not taking as many pictures as the average tourist. I came here to live a Roman life, which continues at a far slower pace than the American experience. I often get left behind on tours because I've stopped to appreciate the scenery for too long.

The dark room is up and running well, so I will scan some prints soon...maybe tomorrow.
